# Turf Tank

The Turf Tank has been designed with safety and ease-of-operation in mind. Some safety related features are always active whereas some are only active during autonomous operation.

# Main Indicator Light

The Turf Tank One is equipped with a front lamp in order to indicate its state and mode of operation. This provides the operator with an easy way to check the status of the Turf Tank One. Please refer to the section about Safety Alerts for detailed information about the meaning of the various blink patterns.

# On/Off (ignition key)

This switch is used to power on the Turf Tank. Turn the key clockwise to the ON position in order to power on the Turf Tank. Turning the key counterclockwise from the ON position to the OFF position turns off the power. In order to prevent unauthorized personnel from operating the Turf Tank, the ignition can be removed from the switch. Please note that the key can also be removed during autonomous operation.

# Main Switch (Power Switch)

Standing in front of the Turf Tank and lifting the right cover will reveal the main power switch located at the front wall of the paint compartment. Flipping this switch to its OFF position (indicated by a 0) will remove power from all circuits.

WARNING

Always recommend to turn it OFF if doing any kind of service or cleaning with water. It is furthermore required to turn OFF the switch when daily operations has finished to protect the battery from slowly being drained (which can permanently damage the battery).

DANGER

Switching the Main Switch to its OFF position only removes power from the components of the Turf Tank. The switch terminals will still be powered on!

# Stop button

The Turf Tank is equipped with Stop Button that will seize all operation when activated. The button is mounted on the front body of the robot for easy access. After the button has been activated, normal operation is only possible again after the stop button is released (whether by pulling it backward or twisting it counter-clockwise).

# Front/rear bumpers

On both the front and rear, the Turf Tank is equipped with soft rubber bumpers that will register if the robot has hit an obstacle. If the robot hits an obstacle it will immediately pause all operations and stop the motors.

WARNING

The bumpers are disabled when manually operating the Turf Tank.

To allow more ergonomic lifting of the Turf Tank the bumpers are also equipped with two lifting handles each. We always recommend that only two persons lift the robot.
