# Safety and Warnings
This chapter further expands and adds to the warnings outlined at the beginning of this manual. It is of paramount importance that any operator reads this chapter in its entirety and understand the risks involved in operating the Turf Tank.
DANGER
- Read, follow, and keep these instructions.
- Heed all warnings.
- Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer
# Collision risks
As the Turf Tank can be operated autonomously without interference of humans, it is mandatory that the operator at all times can see the Turf Tank while operating. As the robot is unable to see its environment when following its predefined route plan, it can collide with any human or object in its path. If a collision is considered imminent, the Stop button located at the front of the robot can be pressed to stop the robot immediately. It is furthermore equipped with Safety Bumpers at the front and rear that also stop any operation when activated.
# Fire risks
As the Turf Tank contains many electrical components and a powerful Lithium-Ion Battery, there is a risk of short circuits by either mishandled usage or faulty components. Please always ensure that no physical damage exists on the battery or in the areas around it. Remember always to turn off the robot by using the main switch, when the robot is not in use.
# Cutting/pinching risks
Please take care when exchanging consumables or maintaining the Turf Tank as sharp edges can be found inside the main covers. Also make sure that the Main Covers and Paint Compartment Lid are not obstructed when are closed.
# Electric shock
As high voltage might flow through the Turf Tank, please be careful when plugging in the Charger to the Charge Port located at the front of the robot. It is not allowed to charge it if either the Charger or Charge Port is wet or moist. Only Authorized Engineers are allowed to tamper with the internals and electrical components.
# Eyes, head and body injuries
Make sure that the integrated lifting handles always are used by two persons when lifting the Intelligent One. It is advised to avoid extending your arms or standing in an inappropriate lifting position when handling the robot, as its weight can result in body injuries.
# Hacking
The Turf Tank is controlled via the enclosed Tablet Controller. As a WIFI connection between the Turf Tank and the Tablet Controller needs to be established, there is a risk of another person taking command of the robot via another device. Thus, we recommend to avoid using the robot while others are within WIFI range to reduce the chance of unauthorized persons gaining access. Keeping the robot stored safely away from non-operators and removing the key is a safe approach in order to avoid hacking, as they will not be able to pair any device with the Turf Tank when they are unable to physical access when it is powered off.
# Electrical safety
Compliance is required with respect to voltage, frequency, and current requirements indicated on the manufacturer’s label. Connection to a different power source than those specified may result in improper operation, damage to the equipment or pose a fire hazard if the limitations are not followed.
There are no operator serviceable parts inside this equipment. Service should be performed only by a qualified service technician.
Charging equipment is provided with a detachable power cord which has an integral safety ground wire intended for connection to a grounded safety outlet.
a. Do not substitute the power cord with one that is not of approved type. Never use an adapter plug to connect to a 2-wire outlet as this will defeat the continuity of the grounding wire. b. The equipment requires the use of the ground wire as a part of the safety certification, modification or misuse can give an electrical shock that can result in serious injury or death. c. Prior to connecting the equipment, contact a qualified electrician or the manufacturer if there are questions about the installation. d. Protective earthing is provided by Listed AC adapter. Building installation shall provide appropriate short-circuit backup protection.
# Warning labels

To reduce the risks previously outlined, two warning labels are applied at the rear of Turf Tank on the chassis between the two rear lifting handles. The labels symbolize the following warnings:
- Before operating the Turf Tank, the operator is required to read this manual in its entirety in order to avoid any mishandling and to know the risk associated with operating the robot.
- It is not allowed to use a high-pressure washer to clean the Turf Tank. In order to maintain the longevity of the Turf Tank please refer to the section about cleaning in the Maintaining your Turf Tank chapter.
# Warning Light patterns
The Turf Tank is equipped with a front lamp in order to indicate its state and mode of operation. This provides the operator with an easy way to check the status of the robot. For example, when starting up the robot (initializing system) it will blink with a fast yellow pulse. When the GPS becomes fully functional, the front lamp will change to steady yellow, to indicate that a RTK fixed position has been obtained, and the robot is ready for automatic operation.
State | Description | Blink pattern (0.125 sec intervals) |
---|---|---|
Initializing system | Fast yellow pulse | ![]() |
GPS FIX in manual mode | Steady yellow | ![]() |
GPS Fix in autonomous mode | Alternating yellow | ![]() |
Pause | Pulsing yellow | ![]() |
Task complete / stop | 5 sec off, 0.125 sec on | ![]() |
